I think that Sim City debacle shows you that nobody wants this always online shit, Dablo 3 has proven that. Singleplayer should not need always online. You can play all your Steam games (well maybe not the online multiplayer ones) offline. GOG sells you the games DRM free and is doing so well, that they can hold there own with Steam and has expanded their reach from old games to new Indie games and some Triple A titles. This always online shit wont stop Pirates it will alienate players from your product and rather encourage piracy. We need to discourage such practices and stomp them out. Every Dollar bill we have is a vote for or against such practices. EAs Origin looks almost as bad as Gametap. Anyway fun episode, made my day.
